This comic strip originally appeared on the official Matrix website in 1999, but was removed not long after without explanation. It has not been printed in any of the Matrix comic strip collections. The name of the writer/artist W. Wilbur W. is likely a pseudonym, as the initials WWW are most commonly known as those of "worldwide web". The strip is a story of high paranoia in the world of the Matrix, so it's possible the sudden, unexplained removal of the strip was a stunt to get fans talking about why it disappeared.

Didja Notice?

 

On page 1, a newspaper headline reads "Trinity Cracks IRSD". Presumably, this was a recent newspaper issue and Trinity cracked the IRSD around the same time as this story takes place. Neo later mentions in The Matrix that Trinity was known for having hacked the IRS D-base. The IRS is the Internal Revenue Service, the tax collecting agency of the U.S. government.
